“Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” - St. Matthew 11:28.
On Wednesday, September 10 th , 2025, through Friday, September 12 th , 2025, we will be engaging in our three days of Prayer and Fasting. Our goal is to fast each day from 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
The central theme will be: “My Help Comes from the Lord,” as declared in Psalm 121:2, “My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.”
Psalm 121:2 is a declaration of faith, asserting that the source of all help and assistance comes from God, who created the heavens and earth. As believers, we need to understand that our helper is the Lord - not our parents, spouse, children, or friends. We serve a God who is limitless in His resources, unlike limited man. Therefore, it is essential to go to Him in times of need.
Hebrews 4:16 encourages believers to approach God with confidence and assurance, seeking His mercy and help in times of need. His throne is a place where we can experience His gracious presence, compassion, and favor. Jesus has broken down the barriers that previously kept humanity from God’s presence, as symbolized by the tearing of the temple veil at His crucifixion.
(St. Mark 15:38). Through Jesus, believers are given access and the right to enter God’s presence. Many times, we go to every other source before we go to the ultimate source, the Lord Jesus Christ! Jesus promises never to leave us nor forsake us, but He will be with us until the end (St. Matthew 28:20). We have been granted access - Let us not forfeit this great opportunity for God to move on our behalf. He desires to assist us with our varied needs, but we must go to Him in faith. We are reminded in St. Mark 11:24 “Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.”
There is no circumstance beyond God’s control. However, there are a couple of things that stand between us and our blessing: our refusal to make our request known unto Him, doubt, and not waiting on Him for the fulfillment of our request. We are told in John 14:13-14. 13 “ And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.  14  You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.” God delights in blessing His people. God always keeps His word; whatever He says, He will indeed bring it to pass. We must firstly ask, secondly, believe, and thirdly, wait. I know the process from asking to receiving at times seems long but understand that when the fullness of time has come, God will do it! God’s timing is always perfect. We are the apple of His eyes, and He wants to see His people blessed. 3 John 1:2 - “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” This verse demonstrates that God is deeply concerned with all aspects of a believer's life, showing that spiritual health provides a solid foundation for other areas of life to flourish.
This verse highlights God's comprehensive care for the whole person - physical, spiritual, and material - and emphasizes that true prosperity starts with a flourishing soul through a deep connection with God. There is no guarantee of perfect health or wealth, but an expression of God's desire for a balanced, thriving life for believers, grounded in spiritual well-being. As we embark on these three days of fasting and prayers, let this serve as a reminder that “Our Help Cometh from the Lord”!
