“And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst” - St. John 6:3.
On Wednesday, October 8, through Friday, October 10, 2025, we will observe our three days of Prayer and Fasting. Our goal is to fast each day from 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Salvation is available to anyone who desires it. Through Jesus’s sacrifice on Calvary’s cross, God opened the way for all to receive the gift of salvation. We are reminded in Saint John 3:16: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
No one is excluded from God’s salvation plan. He does not disqualify anyone - we disqualify ourselves when we choose not to respond to His gracious offer. Though salvation is freely given, it must be received.
Many feel they’ve done too much wrong to be worthy of God’s grace. In truth, none of us deserves His unmerited favor. Yet, God made a way for our eternal security by shedding His blood, and because of this, you and I can accept His gift with complete confidence, knowing it is His will for us to be saved.
The Apostle Paul, under the inspiration of God, wrote in Romans 3:23, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God”. However, Jesus’s blood has given all access to salvation. Jesus’s arms are still extended and offering an invitation to those who are spiritually thirsty. In the natural sense, when one is thirsty, nothing will quench one's thirst but water. As it is in the natural, so it is in the spiritual - God is willing to quench our thirst for salvation if we just come. The hardest step is always the first step in every area of life. Anyone who seeks the Lord will never be the same. As we minister to those in our sphere of influence, we must tell them that God’s blood is still efficacious, and what He has done for us, He will do for them. Ecclesiastes 3:11 declares, “He hath made everything beautiful in his time: also, he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end”. This verse suggests that humans possess an innate understanding and long for something beyond the temporal.
We are born with an inner awareness of eternity—a deep desire for things that last and carry ultimate meaning. This longing makes the human heart restless until it finds peace in God, the trustworthy source of eternal life.
In our search for satisfaction, we often turn to temporary things, such as power, wealth, or relationships. But these can never truly satisfy the soul. Only God can fill that eternal void. And He is still waiting - patiently and lovingly - for you and me to come to Him so that He can meet the most profound need of our hearts: salvation.
Once we come to know Jesus Christ and our souls are satisfied, we are called to respond. St. Mark 16:15 reminds us of our commission: “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”
Let’s not keep this life-changing, soul-restoring truth to ourselves. We’ve been entrusted with a message that transforms lives and brings eternal hope. Now is the time to share it!
So, as we embark on these three days of fasting and prayers, let’s go to our trustworthy source of satisfaction, the Lord Jesus Christ, our life giver.
