From Wednesday, March 11th to Friday, March 13th, 2026, we will observe three days of Prayer and Fasting. Each day, we will fast from 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM as we seek the Lord with intentionality and unity.
Our theme for this sacred time is “Committed.” This focus calls us to deepen our devotion to God and to stand firm in our faith, regardless of the challenges we face.
We anchor our hearts in the powerful words of Romans 8:38-39: “For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
The inspired Word of God instructs us never to allow anything to separate us from His love. In Romans 8:35, we are asked a sobering question: “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?” This is worth our careful consideration.
We are presented with circumstances that often cause believers to become discouraged: tribulation, distress, persecution, famine, nakedness, peril, or the sword. The Apostle Paul makes it clear that as we journey through life, we will encounter various trials. However, these trials must never drive us away from our relationship with God.
One of our prayer line leaders often reminds us, “It is not if, it is when!” Trials are not optional
- they are certain. Yet even in the face of hardship, we are never left to stand alone. The One who is greater lives within us, and His presence empowers us to remain steadfast even in seasons of severe testing.
We cannot endure in our own strength, but through Christ we rise above every challenge. As Romans 8:37 declares, “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us.” His love strengthens, sustains, and secures us, enabling us to walk in victory regardless of what comes our way.
We have the Lord on our side, yet we also have a responsibility in this walk. It is imperative that we remain resolute and steadfast. In 2 Timothy 1:12, the Apostle Paul assures young Pastor Timothy that God will keep what he has entrusted to Him - his life, his ministry, and his salvation. The pathway of salvation requires commitment. When we are committed to a cause, we are willing to endure and persevere despite external pressures.
Think back for a moment. It took intentionality to pursue higher education, to build a career, or to cultivate a meaningful relationship. That same intentionality is required as we serve the Lord. We must be committed to growing in our relationship with Him, and this growth is nurtured through prayer, fasting, and studying the Scriptures.
The Bereans were known for their eagerness to receive the gospel and for diligently examining the Scriptures daily to confirm the truth of Paul’s teachings. When we take the time to examine the Word of God for ourselves, we become far more likely to apply it to our lives.
Commitment does not mean we will sail through life without challenges. In fact, it is often when we make a firm decision to serve the Lord that we encounter even more trials and obstacles. Yet this should not discourage us. We must remember that “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble” (Psalm 46:1).
As we await the Lord’s imminent return, let us remain resolute in our conviction, knowing that only those who endure to the end shall be saved (St. Matthew 24:13). The Christian journey is not for the faint of heart; it requires steadfastness, spiritual discipline, and unwavering faith in the God who called us.
Galatians 5:1 reminds us: “Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.” This is both a command and a warning. Christ has set us free - free from sin, free from condemnation, free from the bondage that once held us captive. Yet the Apostle urges us to stand fast, because the enemy will always attempt to pull us back into what God has delivered us from.
Standing fast means guarding the liberty Christ purchased with His own blood. It means refusing to return to old habits, old mindsets, and old chains. It means choosing daily to walk in the freedom of the Spirit (Galatians 5:16) rather than the bondage of the flesh - this means holding firmly to our faith even when the pressures of life intensify.
As we await the Lord’s imminent return, let us stand firm with unwavering conviction, fully aware that only those who endure to the end shall be saved. The trials may increase, but so does God’s sustaining grace (2 Corinthians 12:9). The opposition may rise, but so does the power of the Holy Ghost within us (Acts 1:8). The days ahead require a steadfast heart, a disciplined spirit, and a commitment that does not bend under pressure.
Let us therefore stand firm, anchored in truth, clothed in righteousness, and strengthened by the liberty Christ has given. Galatians 5:1 offers a clear and contemplative call to spiritual resolve: “Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.” For the One who called us is faithful, and He will keep those who endure to the end.
