INTRODUCTION

I. What Is Meekness?
A. What is your first thought when someone says meekness?

i. When most people think of someone who is “meek,” they often imagine a person who is mild-mannered, gentle, and possibly even timid or weak.

ii. Meekness, in the fruit of the Spirit, couldn't be more opposite from timidity and weakness.

iii. Meekness refers to a gentle, humble, and submissive spirit. It's a trait of the fruit of the Spirit, demonstrating self- control and patience, rather than being timid or weak.

iv. It's a restrained strength, a controlled power that is used for the good of others and the advancement of God's kingdom.

v. A simple definition for meekness is “strength under control.”
