“Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” - St. Matthew 11:28.

On Wednesday, July 10, through Friday, July 12, 2025, we will be observing our three-day period of Prayer and Fasting. Our goal is to fast each day from 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

The focal point will be “Fervent Prayers Yield Results”. Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much - James 5:16.

James 5:16 emphasizes the power and effectiveness of a righteous person’s prayer when it is offered with passion and sincerity. It teaches that when a believer lives in alignment with God’s will and prays with a genuine heart, their prayers can have a profound impact.

As believers, we are encouraged to approach the Lord with confidence and make our requests known to Him. It is recorded in St. Mark 11:24 - “Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them”. It’s essential to recognize that we have been granted access to the Lord, the privilege of approaching our Heavenly Father with bold confidence.

Throughout Scripture, we see powerful examples of individuals who approached God with boldness and witnessed miraculous results:

Hannah came before the Lord with a heartfelt and specific request: she asked for a male child. Though her answer didn’t come immediately, her persistence and faith moved God. The prophet Eli declared, “Go in peace, and may the God of Israel grant you what you have asked of Him.” Hannah believed, and her countenance changed-she was no longer sad. Her trust in God brought peace before the promise was even fulfilled. In time, she gave birth to Samuel, a prophet and priest who would shape Israel’s destiny. Saints, when you make your request known to God, trust Him. Don’t waver. Be specific, be bold, and believe.

Daniel remained faithful in prayer, praying three times a day despite the threat of persecution. His devotion led him to the lion’s den, but it also moved heaven. Even King Darius fasted and prayed on Daniel’s behalf. God shut the mouths of the lions, and Daniel emerged unharmed. His boldness in prayer became a testimony to an entire kingdom.

In Acts 12, the early church prayed fervently for Peter’s release fromprison. Their prayers shook the heavens and the prison doors. Peter walked out free.

Today, many may feel imprisoned in their minds, bound by fear, doubt, or despair. But the same God who opened Peter’s prison can bring deliverance to you. He has not changed!

We are instructed to make our requests known to God - not just to doctors, family, or friends. Ephesians 3:20 reminds us that He is “able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.” Why settle for earthly solutions when we have access to the Almighty?

Elijah, the prophet, boldly confronted the prophets of Baal in a dramatic contest on Mount Carmel. He challenged them to call on their god, while he called on the Lord. Elijah told them to build an altar, place a sacrifice on it, and pray to their god, and see whose God sends fire for the sacrifice. When Baal remained silent, Elijah prayed, and fire fell from heaven. God showed up in power, proving that He alone is God. Saints, no matter what your circumstances are, keep praying. Keep believing. God will show up in His perfect timing.

I am a personal witness to the power of effective prayer. I was diagnosed with a hole in my heart, which causes me to experience respiratory issues. I was scheduled for surgery at the tender age of seventeen. I shared my dilemma with my church family, and they interceded on my behalf. The day before my surgery, my physician took another look at my heart, and to his surprise, the hole was closed entirely, and the surgery was cancelled. To this day, I have not experienced any other issues with my heart. God healed me completely, and I am a living testimony of His power and faithfulness.

I was a witness to a young woman in my grandmother’s church who was charged with selling narcotics. She was arrested and released on bail. She had numerous court appearances. Her mother, a member of the church’s Prayer Band, asked the saints to join her in praying for a miracle on her daughter’s behalf. She was transparent in letting them know that her daughter was facing over 20 years in prison. The saints prayed fervently, and God intervened. At the young woman’s final court appearance, something extraordinary happened. The prosecution could not find a single piece of evidence linking her to the charges. Every record, every file everything had miraculously disappeared. The case was dropped. The young woman turned her heart over to the Lord after experiencing God’s divine favor. She is now preaching the word of God and sharing with others the unfailing love of God.

As we enter this sacred time of prayer and fasting, let us cast all our cares upon the Lord. He is our ever-present help in times of trouble, and He deeply cares about what concerns His people. Saints, even when you can’t trace His hand, trust His heart. Stay fervent in prayer, I assure you, our God hears, and He will answer in His perfect time.

So, as you wait for God’s hand to move in your situation, trust fully that He is working all things together for your good, because you love Him and are called according to His divine purpose. Fervent prayers yield results - God has given you access. Please take advantage of it. Approach boldly, believe fully, and expect breakthroughs.
